Building a Strong Community Together!

New Hope Community Center in Lansing, Michigan, provides programs and services for veterans, adults and families facing homelessness such as: overnight and day shelters, a community kitchen, health care services, housing support and resources. The Center also has an outpatient services for those suffering from substance abuse and mental health issues, in the onsite New Hope Counseling Center program.

This excellent and comprehensive homeless service system serves over 6,000 people each year.

Holy Cross Services provides this myriad of services in Ingham County for those experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless within a fourteen day period.

Services

Community Kitchen

Serving hot, nutritious meals for anyone hungry: Breakfast, lunch and dinner served Monday through Friday. Breakfast and dinner available on weekends. Nearly 100,000 meals served each year.

Overnight Emergency Shelters

Open 365 days a year, the shelters offer a warm and safe place to sleep. The men’s shelter offers 22 beds and the women’s shelter has 24 beds for women and children. Both shelters are filled to capacity nearly every night.

Ability Benefits Clinic

Social Security representatives help clients apply for disability income and represent them in hearings and appeals, offering the hope of income and stability.

Outpatient Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services

Services for people suffering from addiction and mental health problems onsite in the New Hope Community Counseling Center.

Coordinated Entry Agency

Coordinates housing assessments and resources of those experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness in fourteen or fewer days.

Hotel Emergency Lodging Program (HELP)

A safety net program put into action when no shelter space is available in the community. Provides lodging in hotels, food, and case management for families and individuals with disabilities.

Ingham County Health Department/Sparrow Medical Clinic

This medical home for the homeless provides compassionate, preventive care to reduce the reliance on 911 and the Emergency Room. Staffed by Sparrow Health System at our homeless service center.

New Hope Day Center

Weekday one-stop service center offers refuge and is where the work of recovery gets done. Volunteers of America Michigan staff is joined by eight other agencies to provide case management, employment and housing resources

Permanent Supportive Housing

Apartment program for 51 chronically homeless clients chosen as top-priority cases. Independent living with staff supports and case management.

Supportive Services for Veterans' Families
